I got busted fitting a wheel with my boy attached to me with one of those body baby carriers. He seemed to enjoy it, wife went mental, but she got over it..... eventually. One has to just press on old bean.

    heh!
no, the problem is that he *wants* to be in the garage, and to play with/explore everything

OTOH, there will be a sweet spot when he's just big enough to know what he's doing and still have small enough hands to get in the difficult to reach bits

Not sure I ever actually said hello. Been searching through the forum quite a bit, lots of useful information on here!

I'm based in Macclesfield, bought an '89 851 off a forum member in October last year and had a couple of rides, but the plan was always to get something that needed a bit of work over the Winter months.

I have some plans for the bike and it won't be getting rebuilt to original spec, but I'm not tuning the engine, it'll just be fully serviced and repainted. The plan is to have a nice, useable bike, not an SP rep or anything but just built to a spec I like.

Hoping to have it complete for the Manx GP this year and get it over there with my dad's 888.

    Default Hello all !

Greetings all, I'm a 900 superlight owner with the dream of getting a 4v as well.
2 kids, 2 jobs & one wife is making the dream slow progress.
851 SP3 is the distant dream.

    Cool Howdy

Nice to meet ya'll. Im 37, been riding on the road for 18 years with an array of bikes from a rude 900ss, to the first road legal KTM 450 SMR in my town to sport touring on a Kawi Concours and all the gaps filled inbetween. I was thinking about trying to ride this endless upward arc in motorcycle complexity and get myself something new with some ride modes and TFT dash and I've come to my senses and realized that I just don't like the new stuff. Maybe its the plastics, maybe its the 15k price tags, and wasted capability. Who knows? I've always wanted an early 4v, something that appreciates instead of depreciates. I'm here to soak it up and look for the right one.

A bit more than 15K but the best looking old 4v in my opinion.............good luck with the hunting and welcome. Glad you came to your senses.

Hello, I'm Fabrice from France next to Mulhouse. I started in 1991 with a Cagiva Mito, and the Ducati made me dream, especially the 851 that I liked to see in the series "Commissaire Moulin".

5 years ago, I bought a 851 strada of 1992. Otherwise I roll also in 750 SS of 1995 and in Cagiva Elefant.
Thank you for this forum rich in information.
