Default OXFORD PRODUCTS 888'S -Any help with pic / race results / riders ?

I'm re commissioning my Oxford 888 , and going back to the paint scheme .
And i'm researching the history / looking for Pics and quotes , if anyone has anything ?
My research is mainly here on flickr (although it veers off a bit to other 888's !)

    Strange frame your bike has
I'm not speaking about the reinforcements added on it.

According to the the engine holder spacers, it's a right corsa frame.

On this picture, we see the fact that it's a "851" generation (foot pegs), but the font of frame is curved and not welded as the other Corsa until 92.

First time I see that, It's a mix between 92 and 93 bike.
Do you know if the bike was crashed and the frame changed after 1992 ?

On that pic, the frame is well welded (but I 'm sure he had two bikes, so it could be "the other one").

I will check my photos, but I 'm not sure I have others than in your galery.

Thats probably where they've pushed the engine 10mm futher forward perhaps. Lot of skullduggery going on in racing when playing for sheep stations.

Great pics and comments guys !
Have spoken to Henry Fletcher from oxford Products and Ray Stringer and got some more info about it's later life , he was given all three bikes and made one out of all the best bits , using the other parts as they went along through the season ...
The current frame has curved top tubes and a lot of bracing around the rear footrests with later mounts added on !
Have added all pics i found and some of it now to the Flickr pages if you want to see them .
    Cheers Steve .

    Cool

I'm sure Trevor Nation rode it at the IOM TT 92/93....... Probably a DNF, back in the early days reliability on the road circuits was not great for these noble machines.

    Hi Steve

How goes it mate? Had a quick look for some pics of your bike in Oxford colours, most you have already – found one of Robert at the start of ’93 NW, beside Fogarty on the Moto Cinelli bike - the one I based my own rep on – not much left of the bike I got from you all those years back, prob only the frame (see pic) !! Will have a look at some hard copies to see if have anything, could ask Jeremy if has anything if he is about (spends little time here now).

See you have moved on from Moto Rapido – liking the new set-up, building my own café (see pic), mind you work stopped on it – moved house last summer and had to build garage to put the bikes in first!!

    Cheers

    Johnny

Hi mate , glad to see you still have her ! looking good .
Liking your cafe racer too , Redmax is a nice escape from main stream Ducati work .
Dunlop came second to Foggy in both NW200 races in 93 , looks like he had the frame painted red ! dunno what that was about ? DNF in both TT races , had white frame then !
    Cheers Steve .

    Steve,

I very much like the 'my oxford 888 corsa file'

it's as good as it gets for a history file for a race bike.

I would have liked to add the images to the slideshow entry your bike has on here,

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxX...WDwk2ehPTRH2fg

but I think they work so well as they are, I just linked to it.

    Regards
    Terry

ps: ideal world I would detail:
your current bike in chronological order,
with images that clarify component changes (especially as you have images of the donor bikes)

    Thumbs up

    Hi Terry ,
Glad you liked the collection , will weed out the mixed up pics and move to another album sometime .
Followed your link but it only plays for 25 secs so does'nt show much of the photo set .
Loving the website and the fact bikes are being recognised as real survivors with history .
i have a couple more to add later on if i can find more history / parts (a 91 and a 93 926).
    Cheers Steve .
