After I purchased the 888 Fogarty bike from Jim Coda, I asked Paul if he still had any of the 888 parts left over from his swap. He said that he was trying to sell the parts to a guy in San Francisco, but that guy had not paid him yet. Since one of the parts was a factory 888 Corsa radiator that I was interested in purchasing, I told him that I would pick up the parts from the guy in SF, buy the radiator and send the rest of the stuff back to him in Grass Valley.
When I went to the dirtbag's place who had not paid him for the parts, the special radiator had mysteriously disappeared, but I got the cylinder heads, a piston and the crankshaft from the motor. I tried to get a hold of Paul to arrange the return of his parts, but he never returned my calls and finally the phone number stopped working. It wasn't until some years later that I had heard he had passed away.
I still have the ex-Adamo engine parts, which I believe were possibly factory race parts before Adamo got them.

Fascinating story. It appears that air cooled motor is the one I have, but what about this frame? It has no VIN stamped in it but also has brackets and isn't TIG welded...could this be the early ex-Adamo/Orlandi frame?

Any sign of silver paint under the gold frame paint? Is that white paint inside the steering head tube?

    Yes, that's the original frame.
