    Hi Massimo-

Very nice bike-- I agree with Phil, this should be your bike!!!!!!

Very interesting rotor carrier's which I have never seen before with the early wide rotors.. Sort of a combination of the rare narrow band and the early wide band.

    Also --why the early calipers?

The upper triple tree is also a design I have not seen before- has the the stem bolt and split on a slant.

    Massimo-

So sad that you cannot find a way to buy this bike-- I know you have wanted a Corse for many many years. This is a beautiful bike with WSB race history- set up by NCR in 1993, purchased by your friend in 1994 with only a color change to red . That is rare history. From the pictures it looks almost new. Even my one bike which has a single race season on it looks a bit more tattered then this bike.

It does have a few parts on it that I have not seen before on a factory delivered '93 Customer Racing- but that does not mean that they are incorrect for the bike. They could be factory parts which Mr. CARACCHI, who was an expert on preparing these bikes for racing, specified or that he installed because he felt they improved the bike. If he went through the motor then I would assume that the motor produces more HP then a stock Customer Racing- much closer to what the factory was using.

Is the motor fresh? If it is then there is nothing that has to be done to this bike for show or track. If history and condition is as you say, then it is one of a small number of unmolested Customer Racing bikes. The only bikes better in my mind are "as raced" Works Corse's ridden by a well known factory rider.

I love these bikes so like Phil I am very biased when putting a value on them. They are hard to price because there has always been a slim market for 888 Corse's. One will sell high-- and the next one will sell low. The trend seems to be up along with all other collectible machines-but still slow to sell.

And originality often does not bring higher prices. I have seen a number of bikes with mixed year parts go into collections with no push back. Also, many collectors want the bikes "restored" (or over restored) because they want all of their bikes to be bright and shiny. So while I value "as raced" condition for my bikes many collectors look at a bike in that condition as one that needs restoration and price it accordingly.

The bottom line is that I agree with Phil- it is an unmolested/unrestored Customer Racing which has documented race history and a single owner who bought it directly from NCR after the 1993 race season and then took good care of it.-- for me--no less then 35K Euro- perhaps much more to a collector who has figured out that these are the bikes that put Ducati back in the winner's circle on the world stage and that a bike like this can only be "original" once.

I know this is an old thread, but is it correct that the ohlins on this bike looks like a FG9050 (perhaps 9051), but with the under part of the racing ohlins?

If so, does any one has more information about this?
Cause I'm looking for a solution like that.

    Thanks!
