Maybe, just maybe someone has noticed Jack's penchant for all rare, special and limited Ducatis and is creating a market just for him?

Now did I tell you about my super rare SP4S, powered by space shuttle fuel and producing 500 BUP - that Brake Unicorn Power if you must ask!

    Cheers
    Tony

Still not convinced. 1 of 16? Number 265 of 300? Exhausts look wrong with the bands, the calipers look wrong (not standard blackies, nor billet GP), no special master cylinders.
It's got a Corse tank, rear-sets and mag case on one side. Not even an under-slung rear brake caliper. Remember the SP3 tested by Sean Emmett in FastBikes back in '91? Or the FastBikes issue with the 851, 888SPS and LeBon's SP3? They looked more like "real unicorns" than this..
Anyway just my 2 cents.. :-)

I love Fairy Tales! Only if there was another Unicorn... the two could live happily ever after!

What's every ones thoughts on the certificate? What is the translation to English and has anyone else ever got one of the validation certificated from Ducati, does it look the same?

To me it looks like he got exactly what he asked for...
A real certificate would have been from 1991! Not 2008
Not that i think this letter is false but it's too obvious.

There has never ever been an official 851SPS EVER!!!

Show me a folder or magazine with a Ducati ad and i'll start believing in Unicorns, Care Bears and My Little Pony's...

It is not an ad but still official documentation... so if they were in, it must have a Special 91 somewhere.

A friend of mine bought some eproms from a ducati dealer which used some of them in race and there is one of SPS '91 eprom in (and one of a supermono). I don't know if they have had the bike or just the eprom to run with a bike in race.

Just strange that the eeprom is apparently (according to these doc) in 64 bits instead of 128 like the other bikes (SP2/3/4 R90 & 91).

To be sure, the buyer must have a confirmation from Ducati before buying the bike.

However, there are some strange details in this ad.
SP3 or Racing 91 engine have got grey crankcases and black cylinders and heads.
It is the opposite here... it looks like a bitza engine.
For that price if it's a real SPS, the seller has to justify a truly collectible state.
Chassis reinforced is not an argue to a true SPS. The SP3 is the only road bike who has received gussets like corsa (and '91 strada has received the rear gussets).
And of course there were more than 300 SP3 (350 were already build in 1990).
