Superb, but I'm biased. Good luck with the sale, that should fly out.

Nowhere does the seller claim to be offering an SPS. He is selling an SP4! Why you guys have to start talking about an SPS in relation to this ad, I do not understand.

He is offering what is a very rare bike in the USA, in exceptional condition with incredibly low miles.

No need to hijack the thread with unrelated ramblings...

    Good luck selling this beauty!!

    Hi all,

Feel sorry, a bad joke for some of you, I apologize ...
As Mr.R said, my reply was dictated by humour, I didn't want to offend the seller , of course !!!

That SP.4 is a piece of art, unfortunately it's ... at the opposite of my place !!!

Yes you certainly weren't lying when you 1st posted it's stunning chap. The best looking of all the road 851/888's.
As you've said it's an easy job to repair the very light damage, any 851/888 enthusiast would be very proud (and lucky) to own that IMO.

Beautiful, spectacular bike! Don't change those grips. The grips on the bike are original, and were made by a company called MiGrip.
The replacement grips that you purchased are incorrect. Someone on ebay has been misrepresenting them as 851/888/Paso grips, which they are not. Ducati never put those grips on any 851/888.
You can still purchase original Migrips from a seller in Germany.

The Migrips came with open ends on the 851/888/Paso/Supermono, but the source for these has dried up. You can still get them with closed ends and then carefully cut the ends open with a sharp hobby knife.

Here is the source for them:
