    Default Bobhams Lucchinelli Replica

Very much more under valued in my opinion.

I think that there is a typo there Steve...

...how can you consider SP4S models in the same light as SP5 models, one was produced in the 101 region and the other approx 500.

In fact after the SPS model the next rarest road going 888cc SP model is the SP2, the others were churned out in numbers.

    Hi Alan,

Obviously it was a typo, but to answer your question...

Because the SPS and SP5's shared pretty much the same engine spec and both command higher prices than the previous 851/888SP's, even the rare SP2.
For me it's not about how many were churned out, rather it would be the spec of the model and how it performs.
So I'd plumb for a SPS over any of the other 851/888SP's, but I'd choose a late 926cc Corse over a SPS, if I had the money to be in that sort of market.

Seeing the price that the Lucchinelli Rep actually went for...
If I sold my little fleet of Ducati's and the stash of spares I've accumulated over the last 35 years, I could easily have out bid the new owner and put some cash in the bank but...
As I ride/take my holidays on my bikes, why would I want an inferior spec/performing and less reliable 851 to the one I've already got?
Also pointing out here that resale/investment prices mean nothing to me, when I'm too old/frail to ride or dead my children can worry about what my bikes are worth.

I went to auction with the dream of coming away with it, but I ran out quite quickly and sat in amazement but to be truthfull if I had it I would of boughtt it.

Don't think we will see it on the road as it was a telephone bid and hinted towards international bidder, kucky man I say and well done.
