Default Ducati 851/888 Racing Carbon tank

For sale is a genuine Ducati racing carbon tank. It is the hinge version, accident free and includes new( fuel pump, filter, sender unit) and the white plastic side connectors(Used). It also includes the carbon tank quick release cap. As you can see in really good condition and extremely light.

If you are interested please email me on pauldodsworth@telenet.be I will ship all over the world but the buyer must pay. Very rare parts that hardly come up for sale.

    Ducati part number is 586 30 151B

I also have the Aluminium rear frame to go with this Tank (Not sure if it will fit the standard hinge tank as it looks pretty specific for this tank).

    Default Carbon tank

Hmm early tank with mounting for later alloy subframe?

Similar to ones I have seen and owned in top shape but different (bonded on ?) section to attach to alloy subframe and slightly different shape underneath.

    Nice all the same

Default Ducati Racing Carbon Tank more photos

I have been asked by a number of people concerning fitting to certain rear frames. Attached are photos showing the mounting distance I have. Basically if your rear frame is the hinge type with minimum 80mm between the hinge posts then this tank will fit.

The later alloy sub-frames from the SP4/5's are 65mm between the pivot mounting points.
This measurement is taken from the inner faces of the nylon bushes pressed into the mounts.

    Default carbon tank

Is it then an early carbon racing tank designed for the SP3 era corsa frames and alloy subframe

And modified at the rear, removing the mounting tab with hole and replacing this with a bonded on section to house a hinge pin to fit the later SP4 era alloy subframe?

    Tis what I think

    Still nice tho

    No Guy,
It's been modified to hinge up, but the hinge part has been made too wide to fit a SP4/5 sub-frame.
You can see in the pic's that the sub-fame has been modified to accept the modified tank.

Yes I did the modification on the Aluminium subframe to suit the tank as I thought that was better and easier than trying to modify a Carbon Tank. Personally I prefer the pure shape of the early tanks (No bump on the top) coupled with the later SP4/5 rear ends. I did this for a project that has now been abandoned hence the sale. I will try and post photos of all the other parts included with the tank.
