Where's the popcorn icon? This will be good. Don't hold back now Griff, we're all big boys and we can handle the truth.

With out incriminating my self in a legal issue. Let me just say buying bikes from over seas can be a risky business. Others have fallen foul of things that seem to be one thing and turn out to be another. Like a 996 that was in the shop recently, and others before that have been mentioned. As always buyer beware.

    Back to the bike

This one looks interesting IMO...i just cant believe why it's still for sale

And, could someone please explain me why some SP5's have black and other ones have the gold ( bronze ) colored wheels?

    Thanks a lot

Someone's painted the wheels black would most probably be the reason. They were the gold colour as standard on the SP5/'93 model year.
'92 model year 851Strada/888SP4 and the 888SP(4)S had black wheels.
Prior to that the 851/888's had white wheels which looked great, but were a PITA to keep clean even when standing still.
Quite a lot of owners paint their wheels to suit their personal preference, one of the earlier owners of my '92 bike painted them from black to white, but I changed them back at the 1st opportunity even though I liked the look, I just couldn't be arsed to clean them all the time.
Oddly the though a previous owner had painted the white wheels black on my '91 bike...
    I wonder why?

On another note, how good could one expect an sp5 motor to be with 54,000km under her belt?

As far as i know it's still in Zwolle, in Marcs shop.
I went there a couple of years ago to check out a 998 Final Edition and there she was, standing between the other bikes. That's when i took a really good look at the bike and framenumber... It's genuine! 100%

    Best wishes for 2014,
    Cheers
