Default ECu and eprom 888 SP4

    I would like to know if my 888 SP4 '92 nr. 593 mounts a P7 or a P8. How do I recognize them?
And, btw, do you know anyone affordable that sells eprom mapped for open filters (Sprintfilter P08)?
The codes marked are 0362 3365

The SP4's were fitted (originally/OEM) with P7's, they would have had an open filter top/frame as standard.
JHP/Ducati Coventry aka John Hackett used to supply chips, probably still does if you speak to him.
You should phone the shop, ask to speak John Hackett and tell them it's about a SP4888.

That's what I thought, but I'm not sure about the ecu. Is there any way to distinguish the P7 from the P8?
Thanks a lot for the contact!

    Rob-

Open it up and compare to the picture-- the P8 is on the left-P7 on right.

The P8 is from a 916 so has the ignitors mounted on each side-ignore that.

Notice in the upper left hand corner that on the P8 below the eprom (removable chip) you have a single rectangular surface mount. Another simple way is to look at the O2 trim in the lower right corner- the P8 is blue and round and the P7 has a square blue pot.

    Mark,
That's a very clear and precise way to describe how to spot the difference between the P7 and P8's.
Years ago John Hackett told me to open them up and if one of them looked like a child had been let loose with a tube of toothpaste, then that was a P8.
He wasn't far off the mark looking at the bottom left hand of the P8 in your pic's.
