This is John Hackett's, I beleve its in his showroom at present, as planning to go up there next week. Apparently he has an other in a pile of box's which came from South Africa according to Tim the parts man, and I beleve an 851 on restoration right now in the workshop.

    Its all I know...

That FG9031 didn't come with TiN coated inner tubes. As I beleive the FG9340 was the first with this feature..

Hi Phil, C'mon sa vas? Please excuse my "Franglaise"

Well I think it's actually John Hackett on his rebuilt 888 Corse and I'd expect it to fetch top $ if it's up for sale.
Mr Hackett definately knows his stuff/loves his 888's, but his work and bikes from his shop don't come cheep!
John Hackett is a member on this forum but hasn't been around for some time now, he popped up a few years back trying to track down genuine parts to rebuild his own (as in he raced it himself) ex race 888 Corse.

Edit...IIRC? The story goes that John Hackett sold it to help fund setting up his business, then bought it back some years later and rebuilt it back to close to standard.

Don't you think it looks a bit "Chavy" mate? I do...
The white framed bikes with the earlier style decals look sooo much more classy, the best of the bunch being the '92 model year bikes.

p.s. Sat here stroking my latest batch of Titanium treasure to drop through the letterbox,
also contemplating ways to lighten the part that someone sent to "Grandad"...

    Care factor???
This is a fantastic bike with a few personal mod's...stickers and all?....and when you have a shop like JHP in Coventry ...why wouldnt you use the resources available to you...?

    Look's like Mallory Park...?

Yep, Rick Hackett is going over mine at the moment, sorting out electrical connectors & replacing some other perished bits, I know they are dear but it is all part of my ownership experience as every time a bike of mine comes back from there it is much better than when it went up & 100% sorted, I like to ride my Ducati's and with having not much time to tinker I just want to jump on and go big thumbs up for JHP from me
"The bike I would like to have in my personal museum is a Ducati 888, the last one before the 916. This is the best Ducati, the 916 is elegant but the 888 is the best. Massimo Bordi

Back in '06 John and Rick came to a three day track event we were holding and I got him to ride my bike- after the ride he started to talk about his 888 Corse that he let go-- I wonder if the ride helped plant the idea to get it back up and running.
