What do you think about this?

Nothing in the filter or on the screen.

I guess gearbox as it is magnetic. Any suggestions? Engine is a 2003 S4R that is installed in my 851. Engine has about 15000 km

Good thinking. When i think about it my sprag clutch failed about 1500km ago and I had to replace it. Sounds like a good explanation that I am very willing to accept.

I have decided that the chips are coming from the sprag clutch that I replaced 1500 km ago. I totally forgot about that until desmo57 reminded me. The reason for the sprag to fail was that I tried to get the MyECU to work but everytime that I tried to start it gave violant kickbacks that the sprag were not able to handle.

    Jocke,
Just curious, what MyEcu did you to fiddle with, is it a MyP8?

Are you still trying to get it to work properly or did you give up on it?
I was thinking of buying a MyP8 as a replacement for my WM P7 (851sp3). The P7 (old eprom) ruins the sprag clutch because at starting the ignition advance is derived from the ignition map and therefor not set to 0. Thus also kickback at starting.

I now bought a WM P8 for my bike. I remember though that with the MyEcu you could provide for a setting for starting with 0 deg. ign. advance and that that setting didn't work for the 'older' MyEcu's (still starting with ign. advance). So they changed the software (debugging) and after flashing this problem with MyEcu was cured.

    Jacco
