    Default Racing steering stem question

Hi, is a racing steering stem for the magnesium yokes shorter than the strada/sp stem?
I've got a set of alloy racing yokes and I'm messuring to order a stem. Seems like it needs to be +/-7mm shorter from the top of the bottem yoke to the top of the top yoke.
    Can anybody confirm this?
    Thx!

    Default Steaming head

Race frame and strada/sp have same steering head length .. hence bearings in same position.. it then all comes down to your yokes thickness ..

Suggest you make some measurements on the road assembly and drawings for what your race yokes needs ..

    Thx Stig.
I've done my messurements but the yokes being custom made alloy replicas of the magnesium racing versions, I thought this was why the lenghth of the stem is different.
Glad you comfirm the steering head of the different frames is the same size.

quick reply and the answer on my own question: strada/SP frames have a different lockstop than the racing frames. That's why the racing stem is 5mm shorter!

The MG lower yoke I have has a flat top surface, and hence matches the flat lock stop on the race frame. ( no need for clearance )

The strada / sp lower yoke has clearens for the thicker lockstop on the strada/sp frame (teeth)
The conical bearing seats are in the same position in both frame types..hence it all about the thickness of your top and bottom yokes.

It quite easy to convert the strada/sp frames simply cut off the teeth. (The Flat topsided MG yokes does not go on a strada frame with out taking off the teeth on the lock stop)
