Default Pack your wheel properly when shipping !

Just today received a used wheel shipped to me by a good and trusted member..
Unfortunately no protection of the rim edges, and loose in a box, Damage !
This has happened to me now twice in a few month...
Message : if you post a wheel without tire, protect it very well, or donít ship at all !

Why do you think they come like this as spare part ?

When I ship wheels I use 3 pool noodles, slit lengthwise. First wheel on the bottom of a 20"x20"x16" box, with a noodle around each lip, then the other wheel on top, with the 3rd noodle on the top lip. Perfectly secure.

Are they cheaper than pre-slit pipe insulation?

Don't know how much the pipe insulation is, but I usually get these for about $1 a piece, so $3 to pack a pair of wheels.
