    Default Tonights $$ saving tip...

Did some clean up in the garage tonight and found a hand full of gear shifter and brake pedals, having had a close encounter with the road surface in the distant past ... the only thing wrong was a heavy scrape of the alu pin/rubber, rest perfectly streight.. Pedals run +60 eur new... new pedal rubber is 3.5 eur ... hmmm ...

A 8.5 mm drill loosens up the alu pin from the back side ... now only task left is an hour on the Myford making new Alu pins..

Foto's don't upload for some reason, but trust your get the point

A bloke with out a lathe working on bikes is a bloke with one hand tied behind his back. Just had to make an inside tapered sleeve for the mower pump pulley which had decided to wobble itself to death. Saving $200.
Making the perfect shim out of 2010 steel then flame hardening, priceless.

Totally agree. I am in the fortunate position of having my Myford tri lever for spacers, shims and small work and a good, very skillful friend with a mill and two harrison lathes(and alot more ability) for more complex stuff.

I make a drawing of what I want and a very nice man over here uses his very very expensive machinery to give me what I want. This means I am not limited...........also no space in the garages as currently all available space is used. No seriously some things are just not worth doing yourself...........off course other things are....but no space.
