    Default SuperBike Accessory Sale

Over here on the stagnant western edge of the big pond, this message just made the rounds:

"In celebration of the twin cylinder Ducati Superbike legacy, Ducati North America is excited to announce the launch of a unique promotion for the family of classic Ducati Superbikes. For the Desmo Owner who owns a classic motorcycle, this program is the perfect opportunity to replace worn or damaged components or upgrade to high-performance options. Experience the difference upgraded Íhlins suspension or lighter weight Marchesini wheels can make on your Superbike.
Available now for a limited time get classic superbike body panels, fairings, suspension, seats, and wheels for the 916, 996, 998/748, 999/749 and 848/1098/1198 at 50% off MSRP.
Contact your participating authorized Ducati dealer today to get yours on order while supplies last, offer ends December 31, 2017."

I haven't contacted my friendly local yet to determine if the deals really start at/end with the 916, or if there are selected 851/888 bits on offer as well. YMMV.

Hopefully that is 50% off MSRP of the price of the parts they were way back then. Always worth a look. For us on the right hand side of that big pond unless it is something small your postal rates by the big carriers , the duty and admin charges tend to push the prices way too high for all but the very rich or the ones that don,t care as it is the last part they need to complete.

When did the 848/1098/1198 become classics?

When Ducati closed the parts warehouses in the USA, they dumped all of the old parts, including special 851/888 Corsa parts, all of the Supermono parts. Everything that you order from your local USA dealer now has to come from Italy. They don't have any of the old stock. It is all gone. It used to be nice, I could get BCM to check on parts for my 888 Corsa, and they were still able to get things like the last new windscreen in existence or complete carbon fiber footpeg brackets with all of the pegs and hardware or Corsa Termignoni mufflers. They sold all of the Supermono part to Fast by Ferracci, and they resold them cheap on their website. Don't expect to find anything for an 851/888.

There is not a dealership in the USA that can even look up parts for my 851 SP3. I contacted Ducati Italy and they were also not able to come up with a parts book/fiche for an SP3. I am sure that there is an old SP3 fiche somewhere in some parts department in the world. But since Ducati on imported 26 of them into the USA, they never bothered sending out the parts fiche to any dealers.
